This article explains how to set a Weebly website thumbnails/image on Facebook sharing. Means to help you change the picture that displays when sharing Weebly website link. The trick applies as well to most of the other social media platforms such as Twitter. Well, in theory, Facebook is supposed to display images from your site from which you can choose the the one you wish to include on your post, though we rarely actually see that happen. Unfortunately there’s not a direct way within Weebly to indicate to Facebook which image to use but we’ve found a quick workaround that worked for many users.
How to Choose What Image to Display on Facebook Sharing
In order to set a Weebly website thumbnail on Facebook sharing, start by viewing the published site and right-clicking the image to copy image address. Then in Weebly, go to Edit Site > Pages, click the page you wish to use, SEO Settings, under Header Code enter this code:
<meta property=”og:image” content=”fully_qualified_image_url_here” />
Once you do this, you’ll need to go to the Facebook Debugger and re-scan your site. The debugger will then pick up the new HTML OG tags you’ve added. https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

though adveritise to teach how to 4upload files, word pdf and ppt, that part did not work.
Hi I couldn’t get this to work – could you describe for a lay person and give examples so I know what to put where – perhaps images of each step please?
Thanks
This didn’t work for me. Please update with a clear example, like Amanda asked. I hate the thumbnail that’s always used when I post to Facebook or Linkedin.
